Re: How do I use training tools?I can make a good amount of power..but my power to weight isn't great...about 3.6w per kilo at ftp.I hope to be over 4w per kg by next year and 4.3w per kg by March...but I would be suprised if I ever hit 4.5..but one can dream
Re: How do I use training tools?well im a featherweight at 62kg so all i need is some power
so how do i work out mt FTP?? i suppose i will need to know that before i get a plan made up
Re: How do I use training tools?
Go ride a TT for about an hour. But there are other ways to estimate: http://alex-cycle.blogspot.com/2008/05/ ... -sins.html
That depends on who's plan you get.
Re: How do I use training tools?
will be one of your plans is it best to do the FTP test on a trainer??
Re: How do I use training tools?Knock on the door this morning - it's my wheel! And the comp now has the cutout hub with CF inserts! Dead sexy.
Shame I've just been back to the doctor and my throat/one middle ear has spread to the other ear and I now have swollen glands. Two antibiotics at the same time... I ride, therefore I am.
...real cyclists don't have squeaky chains...
Re: How do I use training tools?
Depends on which way you want to test it...?.I couldn't do an hour test on a trainer (some could) and I would struggle with a 20 min...but I will do a MAP test today on my TACX trainer...Ant does MAP tests on the road but I couldn't hold my power steady enough to do that.
Re: How do I use training tools?
Ear infections are the worst..I need 10 day on AB's to get rid of them...no FTP testing for a few weeks for you
Re: How do I use training tools?
If you didn't read my link above, you should. Also this one about the pitfalls or common mistakes made when testing/estimating FTP: http://alex-cycle.blogspot.com/2009/07/ ... ftp-2.html The venue chosen depends somewhat on the test methodology and the quality of an indoor set up if considering that.
Re: How do I use training tools?
