Lance Armstrong 7 week training book

Postby aussie » Mon Jan 11, 2010 7:25 pm

I got myself today Lance Armstrong and Carmichaels book, where they talk about the 7 week training program, and have decided i am going to endeavour to give it a go. Im sick of riding to get better but without any structure to it.

Has anyone here read this book????

Yes i have read the book and did the plan. I found the plan quite easy to handle and after the 7 weeks I had improved, this could also have been due to me riding more also :) I find it good to have a fairly structured approach, it keeps me motivated. I have recently gone on Alex Simmons training plan as I wanted to try racing and find myself riding faster and stronger now.
I would say do the plan and Im sure your riding will improve

I do have one question that might seem a bit stupid, in the programme from the book it has written '1 hour in range 2 (heart rate) with 20 mins tempo on flat terrain' thats an example now the stupid question is the 20 mins part of the 1 hour or additional to the 1 hour????

The way i did it was in addition to the one hour. If you look at how much taining time they recommend for the intermediate level it is 8 to 10 hours a week so you need to add the tempo rides etc to the original ride. hope that makes sense :)
