1. an hour is a long time.
2. static trainers really are boring even with a video running.
3. the test really hurt.
4. I can maintain a high heart rate for extended periods of time (170 for the bulk of the hour) without blowing up.
5. I am no longer "untrained" (as per the Coggan scale) for 5 and 20 minute power.
6. I have plenty of headroom to "grow" into with respect to power.

7. I have pretty good endurance.
8. I need to start putting some structure into my riding rather than just commuting and doing a weekend ride if I am going to start racing next year.
The test was a 25 minute, varied, warm up followed by an hour long test on a 2 degree gradient and was done using a Computrainer setup with all the whizz bang thingies and a machine that went bing!
I may have been a bit conservative during the test as it was the first time I'd had a go at it. That my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
