Each to his own I guess. My stick legs are happiest when I use girly gears and spin up. Average cadence for the segment for me is almost always 80rpm +/- 1rpm.

Well all that Mt Coot-tha training came to the crunch today...my PB was 10:36 and my aim was to be under 10min ...ended up with 9:46 (wind unassisted)...was a nightmare at the start of the climb...all those bikes and they were all over the place..so thats me for the year now

Damn! So was it the wind before you got there, or was there a big headwind going up the hill?

How was the ferry and all out that way?

Worst of the wind was heading to the ferry... but it was cool crossing the River.. it was a good ride and u found it harder than last week's noosa century. .. nearly the same km if you count the Commute to the start and back

ITW - it's a ride you wouldn't do - too unsafe for you.
it was cold and windy. cold lungs aren't good to climb with. neither are could legs. then the wind hit.

just not my day.

Would have been lovely if it weren't for the wind. Couple of scary gusts, especially on the ICB and out towards Moggil. Energy sapping headwinds a lot of the rest of the time. After the ferry I gave it a bit of a hit on the tailwind section before flagging a bit - luckily a guy caught me and we went from there to the tennis centre together, then he started to pull away (but later cramped up, unfortunately). So thank you to him, he dragged me along the second half a decent clip quicker than I would have otherwise done.

That wind sucked. Even though I'm heavy at 95kg I was still feeling cross wind gusts all day pushing my 50mm front wheel. Lighter riders on deep wheels must have been puckering every time a gust came past. Set a PB up Coot-tha (not hard as I've only done it 3 times). Did not expect that amount of hills post Coot-tha either. The elevation profile was a lie!!!

Was a good ride after the ferry. Except when 1 of my group had a crash going over the rail tracks. He was OK and we pushed on. I started cramping up Cemetery Hill and limped home.

Good ride, but tough day in the wind.

What times the race at Elimbah? I may come for a sticky beak and a g'day, being it's only 1km from home.
