10.48 for the Back..... pretty happy with that for first time out. It's definitely a bit of a grind that's for sure.

went up again yesterday and today but this time on my new (read: heavier) tyres. even though it's only a small amount of extra weight I have noticed it.
yesterday I did a half and half (first half in 34-21, second half in 34-21). this morning was in 34-19 all the way. one speedo-gonsales passed me on the way up. oh and it was freezing on the way down.

There's time's I've felt like I might need an ambulance going up Mt Cootha... I guess heart attacks do happen. Most likely a downhill crash though, hope its not too bad.ezzy wrote:(AT) comedian; would anyone need an ambulance stacking uphill?
Has anybody seen the Irish flag and small memorial on Simpsons Rd, just before the back climb up cootha? What is the story behind that?

seems a popular spot if its a left hander then right as you come down, it tightens up.jasonc wrote:cyclist down at around the 500m mark this morning. being stretchered into the back of an ambulance.
already a memorial there and also where that lady longboarder died a few months ago.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Apparently it does happen up that way.ezzy wrote:(AT) comedian; would anyone need an ambulance stacking uphill?
If you came along afterwards all you'd see is a guy/girl who looked like they had crashed.

That is pure gluttony ..... well done ..... have stayed away from the climbs this week, did Nebo sunday and easy rest week. Road race on Sunday and need to save the legs.jasonc wrote:went up for the 4th time this week. apparently everyone was doing the riverloop this morning, so almost had the road to myself.
I'll be back there next week to have an attempt at cracking the elusive 9
