I use this segment:
https://app.strava.com/segments/615163" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
it's the closest to the coot-tha challenge segment despite what someone at BQ created. it finishes at the top of the ABC driveway

Dimma - I'm faster than you on 1 segment that isn't a bike path in Brisbane.

Ultimate goal is 8:30 but I don't think I have anything left in this run of form.

Headed up the front side today for the first time in a long time. I forgot how unpleasant the first 500 - 700 metres. Especially when you make the left hand turn and the 11 or 12% pinch drags on.

Poor Maserati this morning trying to do a video shoot (possible promo for Cootha Classic hill climb next month)...there wasn't much opportunity to get a clear run with all the cyclist on the road...

Somehow pulled a decent time out of my backside, never thought I was capable of it but managed to cut my PB from 9.20 down to 8.01.
Only problem is, I now want to get in the 7's, but don't want to experience that pain again :shock:

Thanks, I go to Coottha a fair bit, but rarely do an all out assault, usually partial intervals.
I think my previous attempt was 18mths - 2yrs prior, so there was a big jump in fitness in that time.

I'm new to Brisbane (and Aus) and in my 4 rides up Cootha from Oct to Dec have gone:

Oct 3rd: 10:14
Oct 19th: 9:46
Nov 20th: 9:14
Dec 24th: 8:45

So pretty pleased with that. That's also carrying 2x750ml bottles (full) and all tools + food. :)

Nice work there adam. anything sub 9 is excellent. If you do that in 4 rides, in 10 rides you can probably give Geoff's time a shake

That is good going Adam. I got my PB down to 10:09 yesterday from a start of 11.41 - also 4 attempts (really wanted sub 10 but I am still learning the hill and actually had too much left in reserve at the end). That puts me at 59th in the heavyweight division. A sub 9 would (even if possible for me which I doubt [FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]) see me firmly in the top 10 of the 95+ set. Hmmm...
