Thanks for the feedback. Some varying opinions obviously.

For the record I already training using a HR monitor and Strava premium, so have been monitoring my performance this way already. I am joining in on bunch rides which is definitely a different aspect which is great. I might look in to the hire of a PM and see how it goes. If I don't think it's making a big difference I'll think about some new wheels.

Don't be afraid to grab a licence and jump into some races with your local mob too mate - you'll find that as well as finding them fun(???lol), you'll improve very quicly.
