Smoke in sydney

Postby TREKKER_MIKE » Mon Oct 21, 2013 5:37 pm

Hi guys and gals,

just be careful training with bushfire smoke around Sydney

I have been debating getting up early to ride, but this is making the sleep in much more appealing

Air quality varies by area and over time. Best to check the AQI for your area.

Forecast of AQI for Sydney is poor so not terrible. I'll likely ride.

Don't know what you are talking about, thought it was a bright sunny day, not a cloud in the sky

I'm really battling this week, it's really smoky indoors at work. I can't take a deep breath without coughing, no history of asthma and it's definitely not a cold. I manged to sneak out for a couple of hours on saturday afternoon when it cleared up a bit, felt pretty average though.

We had the Friday afternoon northerly blow it down our way for Sat morning bunch ride. It was pretty thick seeing as we're around 150km away from the Lithgow area. After the finishing sprint, I could barely breathe. I'd hate to think what it's like down Sydney way.

Pretty clear today on my morning ride. Didn't smell or see any smoke.

We had it bad in my building in the CBD yesterday too. I wasn't coughing but did have a headache. It's much better today.

I'm thinking of a slow stroll down to Prestons tonight considering the currently moderate weather. But I might change my mind if it gets bad.
