Over one month without training please help!

Hey, stupidly enough after a holiday i have been slacking off and haven't been training at all for over one-two months. I want to start C grade crits next tuesday again but i really don't know what to do :0 how can i ensure that i can at least keep up with the pack. Is it too late to train now?

Just take two of these each day and inject this stuff once a week. Oh, and keep it under your hat.

Do a couple of high intensity rides this week (just not the day before), then get into it and start racing. Fitness will quickly come back after a few races!

You will get dropped anyway, so just do what you can and live with it. Or drop into D for a few weeks before returning to C.

Well i’m back, back from my months holiday in Europe. Nice weather in Tuscany, and even December is off season over there, i saw a lot of cyclists on the road.

Having one month completely off the bike while all my competitors are training their little black hearts out had me worried. I arrived back in Australia on thu, and the plan was to go for a light ride the next day. That did not happen as the jetlag really took its toll. I had slow 30km ride on Saturday which was awful, another one the next day, 50kms on Monday which was heaps better, 50kms on tue and intervals on wed. Needless to say that the intervals –which were 30s on 30s off (kind off) were a real struggle, but i thought these were the best ones for me to get back into race rhythm and to be able to stay on the surging wheels. Re-entry on the race scene was Friday 10/1, where i raced my normal B grade. I just stayed in the wheels, closed the necessary gaps, and one effort had me close to throwing up, but i was with the pack. Another race on Sunday and i stayed in the group quiet comfortably. More training Sunday afternoon, Monday and Tuesday (intervals) and today, and i feel ok. It will take me another couple of weeks i suppose to get back to my previous level, and to actually be able to be competitive at the front of the race, but the massive sustained drop in fitness didn’t happen. Very happy with that.
