When deadlifting heavy, you work your way up from even handed grip, to over/under grip, then when grip is the limiting factor you put on the straps.

Yeh, the mixed grip is definitely better, not needed for 60kg. Having said that, last year I saw a guy about my size using straps for 60 & 70kg DL's. It looked really funny but perhaps I should give him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps he had a hand injury. Recommendation for straps is to avoid them if you can, over time your grip strength will increase till it is not a problem
