Name of product
SKS Chromoplastic Mudguard Set - 35mm (in Black)
Where bought and price
Bought from Wiggle (UK online store) for AUD$48
May vary with exchange rate, and price does not include postage, as the order was big enough to have free postage.
How it is used
Used on fixed gear bike to try and keep the feet a bit drier, and also keep the Brooks B17 dry(ier)
Description
They are an alloy shell that is plastic coated with steel attachment rods.
Positives
+ look OK and seem well made
Negatives
- PITA to fit, very fiddly
Additional notes
Works really well fro light rain and wet roads. When the rain get harder and the roads pretty wet, there is a fair bit of water that comes out past the guards at the attachment points for the rods - only in drips, but typically well placed to land on shoes.
Reccomendation
For those running 28C tyres, I'd opt for the 45mm size rather than the 35, at the clearances are a bit tight to the tyres.
