Had them most of my life, kept on being told it was hydration, when it wasn't.

Yep, a couple of ibuprofen does the trick.

Here are some causes to consider. Preferably try finding and addressing the root cause rather than relying on drugs!

Dehydration - drink a bottle an hour
Lack of nutrition/electrolytes
Traffic stress/route finding stress
Poor bike fit - eg too large a bike
Poor bike posture - slumping the back, poking the neck forward, not relaxing the arm and neck muscles
Referred pain - eg from back problems

My situation involved several of these factors combined.

It has been a month now and not one exertion headache!

The neck stretch does it for me. :D

How does too large a bike cause a headache :?

To small I can see, as your forced to hold your head up and lift your eyes to see where your going.
