Can't read your bike computer?

Was yacking with a mate on the early morning LSD today. Talking about recent gear purchases at our favorite cafe, over a piccolo, he shows me these stick on reading lenses he had put on his riding sunnies, and is as happy as Larry cos now he can read all the data display screens on his Garmin 500, and he doesn't have to wear his prescription glasses in races anymore.

I put them on for a bit and was impressed.

Chuck, I don't where my mate bought his from, so don't take that link as an endorsement.....thought he said he paid more like $35 for 1 set of 2.5 diopters.

What about one of those camera magnifiers that you stick over the lenses?

Just bought some sunnies from an Australian site "Fuglies" UV 400 which have a bifocal dioptre( 1.5 up to -2.5 ) insert and adjustable frame . Think they are mostly used by Fisherman for attaching hooks etc but they make really great ride glasses and very robust . They have also retaining strap ,air spaces around eye piece and float in water if dropped. I have used for both Road and MTB rides and make it very easy to read a map or bike computer-cost around $45 !
They also make some good value photochromic set at about $69 ( though these dont have the dioptre inserts)
There are other more sporty pairs on the Fugly site but for riders of 40+years with presbyopic (ie age related loss of near focus ) these are great !
