hairy backwould you shave your back? i guess this only applies if you already shave your legs. some of my back hair protrudes from my jersey collar.
Re: hairy back
Don't do either
Re: hairy backWhat MichaelB said.
I hate shaving my face and usually only do it once or twice a week. Once you start shaving your back you are committed to doing it forever. If you feel you have to go there then get it waxed. Easy for me, I'm blonde (grey now) and have no back hair.
Re: hairy backjules21 if you're single, there's your answer. No fence dwellers on this topic. You either love 'em or hate 'em. Then again, if your cycling posse is full of gorillas then yah, won't judge you there mate. PS And one does not *shave*. One waxes the back. Amateur oenologist and green-friendly commuter.
Re: hairy backjust be aware that if you start there's no stopping it
first it's the back, then the sack and crack. no thanks
Re: hairy back
So right GR, I can see Apple chiming in with "pics or it didn't happen" Full beard and as issued body hair here. Life's too short to depilate. ...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Re: hairy backI don't have any hair on my back, chest, or arms anyway. Only a little on the legs, and that can stay.

Re: hairy backto be honest i haven't shaved my legs for many a year, but i have shaved my neck/back as it gets hairy and i don't like it. but then i stopped. and i was bored today so i thought i'd see what reaction i got
Re: hairy back
So your pro waxing? I've got stuff on ebay
Re: hairy backMen have coarser, thicker body hair. Shaving will blunt the blades. Wax it quick. What's a bit of pain? No more painful than getting tatts.

Re: hairy back
incidentally, it's not the hair that does most of the blunting of blades, it's the corrosion caused by their getting wet. i leave my shaver in oil, which prolongs its life considerably. i always found back hair to be quite easy to save off, certainly easier than facial hair.
Re: hairy back
That's the second thing I'll NEVER do. And getting ears or whatever pierced.
hairy back
I hate to be pedantic, but I'm nowhere near flexible enough to do either. Fortunately i don't have a hairy back or I reckon I'd be off to toga class to be able to DIY Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.
Hopefully I'll know what that's like..... one day. ![]()
Re: hairy back
This place in your part of the world charges $490 for a laser removal for the back. http://www.nirvanaspa.com.au/services/l ... r-removal/ Lots of moolah to be made in hairy backs! Amateur oenologist and green-friendly commuter.
Re: hairy backSo commuRider, if your partner had a hairy back, would you get him to pay the $490 ?

Who else? Lol That's why it is better than laser. Amateur oenologist and green-friendly commuter.
Re: hairy back
Laser is out - IPL is better. I have a cycling mate who owns a salon/spa with one and boy I can tell you IPL works! It's just a commitment that I'm not ready for. Yet. Ha ha! Cookies on dowels.
Re: hairy backThe pain isn't an issue, its over rated winging.
What is important is cost and effectiveness I've got stuff on ebay
Re: hairy back
So how many tatts have you got then if you reckon waxing is no more painful than getting ink? Some days you are a big, strutting rooster, some days you are a bit chicken and some days you are just a complete cocque. Re: hairy back
No tatts but have given natural birth. Aren't tatts just a series of needlepricks or acupuncture?!! Waxing's a breeze to popping out a watermelon. Have spoken to (girl) friends who have tatts (one has a massive spread on her lower spine) and waxing doesn't even enter in the conversation in the pain-o-meter. Over time waxing becomes a fortnightly/monthly routine - c'est natural. But then, girls are indoctrinated in hair removal (blame your Cleo, Cosmo, Girlfriend mags etc) from puberty so we've become accustomed to it. Amateur oenologist and green-friendly commuter.
Re: hairy back
Ditto. Hell I only have to shave once a week Shannon
