Re: Energy Drinks & Blood Pressurei think you should read what everyone says here and digest it, then promptly forget you ever read it. Then go and make you own mind up, see your GP, naturopath, homepath, traditional chinese medicine doctor, psychic, the queen or whoever else you go to for health maintenance and/or treatment and let them tell you what might help you.

Re: Energy Drinks & Blood Pressure
Company doctor is not quite an independent opinion. Remember, he who pays the piper, calls the tune. In this case, the tune might be to gather evidence that your employment is not a factor in causing high blood pressure or any of the ailments it could be associated with. FWIW, a normal blood pressure is less than 120 over less than 80. While your company doctor is happy you should not be so reassured. Go pay a GP to make a full and independent assessment of your health. It really isn't that scary and it's a whole lot cheaper than a premature funeral. Cheers WombatK - Jerry Garcia, Grateful Dead

Re: Energy Drinks & Blood Pressure
Since you posted this (thanks) I've Googled around a bit and looked for a definitive answer to the caffeine and weight loss issue. There are so many contrary views on the issue it's confusing. I did find though a clinical study by the American Journal Of Clinical Nutrition where quite a number of participants were observed over a number of years. The study concluded that, by and large, caffeine consumption helped weight loss, albeit marginally, but didn't inhibit weight loss. See the study here http://www.ajcn.org/content/83/3/674.full There are only two types of cyclist.
Those that have crashed and those that are about to.
Re: Energy Drinks & Blood Pressure
The above sums it up for me (as Wombat also points out above). Can't see for the life of me why people drink that energy drink CRAP. And it is just that. It does you NO good whatsoever !!
