Frozen Shoulder manipulation under anesthesia

Following on from the shoulder bursitis thread I have seen my ortho surgeon today and the MRI has confirmed frozen shoulder. He has offered manipulation under aneathesia as a treatment, the process doesn't sound real pleasant but a quick google shows fairly good outcomes, anyone out there had it done?

Ouch shoulder frozen, my was partial frozen before that so I kinda know how it feels. I hope it goes well for you as I've now got a frayed tendon which is sore, think it's getting a bit better but not too sure.

I am recovering from a frozen left shoulder and still going through a less frozen right one. Initially I had seen a physio who kept manipulating it and though this sometimes gave me short term improvements, it just as often would cause it to flare up and give me more pain. I found therapeutic massage helped a lot at certain times, particularly as the pain in my shoulder would cause me to 'compensate' by tensing up elsewhere - but it wasn't the cure in any way.

Eventually I saw a sports doc who accurately dignosed it and simply told me to wait it out, particularly as by this stage the worst of my left shoulder was over. Luckily for me it has not hindered my riding and the pain has been managable.

The suggested treatment might be a good idea in your case, but I'd suggest you fully explore the options.

That was my experience as well ... well the specialist did try an injection of steriods, well this was done three times. The first under ultrasound by referral by the GP but the doctor at the radiological clinic managed to put the steriods into the wrong place. The specialist then tried a shot at his rooms and then subsequently one under an MRI. None of the injections worked and eventually it cleared up after about 18 months as the specialist said it would at the start of it all.

Oh he was strongly of a negative view of physiothérapie as a treatment.
