Better health is only a short bike ride away ...

Postby ekib » Mon Apr 09, 2012 4:48 pm

Read this article recently. I think I may be preaching to the converted here. :)

I found the paragraph on infrastructure interesting,
"Urban design can discourage cycling. Factors such as ease of travel, the availability of dedicated cycle lanes, safe roads, proximity of home to work, and environmental quality can all affect a person’s decision to cycle."

Gee I wish health experts, government urban planners and government treasurers would read articles like this. :?

Comments anyone?

The End.

Totally agree,
we need an attitude change in all levels government and the general population.
After hearing Adelaide's Mayor speak recently at an cycling event this may be happening slowly .The city council allocates an portion? of car parking fines to cycling infrastructure. It does seem that new roads and development have cycling paths included. The problems seem to be retro fitting old roads and who will pay.
Unsure how other states are going in the development cycling infrastructure.
