Really happy to be making progress. Can see that time being slashed down to 20 mins eventually. Once I am confident that my fitness is up I will increase my distance. At the moment I am concentrating on improving performance over a standardised course. Good fun. I have also got back into pumping a little iron for some upper body strength. At 54 and sedentary, I felt I was going down fast... feeling very weak. At this early stage, I am feeling improvements already :P
Always good to read someone who actually gives a F about their fitness and health, well done champ, yep slow and steady wins overall, keep those increases on the small side, if you do want to ride long (or if you have the time, just go slow, enjoy it)

Cheers
Thanks for the encouragement. Well in the short time since that post the time is down to 24:06 at 28.5 Kph. Looking forward to actually riding with other people eventually :D

Nice stuff, yer it depends how you enjoy riding, I ride with a bunch most mornings and cycle a lot on my own, I enjoy both forms but nothing beats being alone on a ride early morning, no one around. Best thing ever

23:38 mins at 29.2 km/h new best. Managed 4 sessions this week so pretty happy as I feel I have a great head start coming into summer. I read about establishing base miles and figure I could work out my own method of establishing a base. This then, would be the starting point at which to commence riding according to the advice in "Cycling Beyond Fifty". So, I figure I want to get fifty of my sessions under my belt to reach a starting point. 37 to go means by about the end of October. It is interesting to notice that my avg cadence keeps increasing. Currently at 91. Suspect that is going to settle in the mid 90s and hope I can get that avg speed up to 35km/h.
Anyhow... all good fun.

That's the way to go Paul... Just keep on cycling and you will reach there in no time. :)
