Toe-nails - Separation Anxiety

Postby ft_critical » Wed Mar 20, 2013 12:34 pm

Slowly my toe-nails are separating from the nail bed. This is on the big and small toes. Sometimes I can feel it on the big toe as I drive a high cadence - catching on the front of my shoe. I had my shoes fitted, so I am not sure that I would say my shoes toe-box is too wide.

Any thoughts as a result of similar experience?

****Shimano SPDSL shoes, custom eSoles, yes I cut my nails, no, not too short.****

Have you got any discoloration with those toenails at all? Your nails should not be "catching" on anything inside the shoe.

One has subsquently got a fungal infection, but the other is white. A fissure has developed down the middle, under the nail. So it looks like a 'T' Shape. This is what happened to the other one. It is definately from 'catching.'
