Post-ride hurl - what's that all about?

Lately after I've been on a longish and hard ride I feel nauseous and often end up having a hurl. Sometimes it can be over an hour after the ride and I feel ok(ish) after I've been sick. I can't put it down to hydration as it has occurred a number of times under different temperature & hydration conditions, then only common factor I can pick up on is that I've usually had an extended period of riding with a high heart rate. Not too worried (yet) but it's not a nice way to end a ride. Does anyone else get this?

I didn't ever have that problem but one of my mates would constantly throw up after, a real hard session. :shock: (on the bike that is) :wink:

How hard were you pushing yourself? Some people will do this quite regularly after extreme exertion for whatever reason. :?

Congratulations... you are riding so hard you're making yourself hurl!

Try not to do it too often. If you don't want to hurl, try riding a little slower. :)

Could be worth visiting your GP for a test or two; you might be in need of a supplement of some kind.

If you suffer exercise induced nausea you are doing something wrong.

It can be caused by over exertion when not fit enough for that level of effort, or from not cooling down slowly enough after strenuous exercise.

However, the most common cause appears to be drinking too much water, before, during, or after strenuous exercise.
