you think you have an ear infection (mine gets blocked and it's been infected before) and your first reaction is "awesome! that's gotta be worth at least an extra 20w when i get rid of the infection, surely?!"

sadly it wasn't infected. i'm sure most people would be happy about that.

I take shortcuts in my car but forget that only my bike can go through there :(

I ride to work even when I don't feel like it because it somehow seems easier than bus then train.

The value of the bikes in your garage is greater than the car.

You worry about 100g on the wheels more than 10 kg on the rider

Did that on the weekend - remembered just in time to turn the corner before & acted like I always intended to go that way

... you shave your legs before you go out, rather than your face. (One for the guys.)
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Your throttle gets stuck wide open on your motorbike, the cops pull you over and don't feel empathy. You spend the next 3 months on long service leave from the other licensed road users.

Bikes in the garage?! What is this?!

Mine bikes live in the pool room with my trainer (and TT bike) in my study...though my new Time might still be in my bedroom

What's a garage?

Oh, that's right, it's something to do with cars, right?

You get an aching feeling in your legs, that can only be soothed by going for a ride.

- Everyone at work keeps pulling your pant legs up to see if you shave your legs.....
- Everyone at work hits you up for tips on the best eggs benedict in town.....
- You have aquired several new nicknames including "Lycra Lout" and "the latte lad".....
- The wife makes comments along the lines of
"I thought it would be like a bike and a helmet. What do you need this other stuff for?".
"Do you really need another bike / pair of bibs / water bottle?".
"Make sure you turn your GoPro on in case some idiot hits you".
"Are you going for a ride today or are you going to stay home and oh I don't know, play with the kids / mow the lawn / fix the bloody power steering leak on my car / get a load of dirt and finish levelling off the front yard so we can lay some bloody turf for god's sake. We've been in this hose for over 2 years and you still havn't finished the front yard".

You know you are a cyclist when, as a driver, you have respect and empathy for cyclists you encounter along your route.

You hit the nail right on the head. Everyone needs to spend some time a bicycle to see things from another perspective.

Especially the roads minister in NSW, and probalby a few others in the public domain - and no I am not talking about one ride with the media in tow : I mean for a complete season.

yeah i know the feeling im currently in my second month of a six month suspension for a high speed on my new Hayabusa. Lost my job as well as i was a coach driver. Upside lots of time in the saddle on the road peddler, downside the six months suspension and the $1260 fine. God i love that Hayabusa but.

You know you are a cyclist when you get out of a perfectly warm bed every weekend before your partner, despite having been up earliest during the rest of the week.

(And you know you married your soul mate when there is an unwritten and never challenged rule that gives you that whole day of your choice to get out and ride and no expectation of when to return. 8) )

When the paramedic thinks you may have a broken femur and your wife asks why. When they respond that your thigh looks enlarged/swollen she replies he's a cyclist and they've been like that for ages
