Sore heart/chest/lungs?
Postby Xplora » Sat Jan 18, 2014 12:20 pm
Random one, finished 140kms in 35 degrees yesterday and fortunately don't feel muscle soreness (crazy protein powders FTW) but I'm feeling a little tender inside my chest. I know for a fact that I've drilled myself hard, but wanted to know if I'm likely to bury myself trying to race Sunday/Monday/Tuesday?

Drilling yourself the day before a race is not recommended for best performance on race day. A few spin-ups, sure, but not that kind of ride.
Sunday I'd be taking it easy, Monday or Tuesday you'll be more recovered.

I'm not sure how much to take from tonight's race, but it went well and I didn't have to be dragged away in a box. Definitely good advice TG, thanks mate.

I would just suggest to be wary of the supplements you are using - if what we see from some of the body-builders and the exotic concoctions they use is anything to go by. You are probably well on top of that though.
