This is a bit like a mix of phys ed from school e.g. burpees and some other exercises thrown in.
Most of the attendees make me look very slim so I like going. My attitude is first it is a change from cycling in case my body gets too used to it, and go like hell as I am in a 'safer' environment that is I have two semi qualified medical employees taking the session so when my body starts to complain I have conversations with myself about being a soooky la la or wanting to wear a tutu etc.
Last night was really hard. It was 1 minute of exercise a, then b, c etc continuous with no breaks for 45 minutes.
This program is 8 weeks, then we have 8 weeks of more intense work, then 8 weeks of one on one personal training with an exercise physiologist (I think that's how you say it).
As I said makes a change from riding for me. I ride generally Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I try and make all my work appointments for Wednesday so I only need the car one day a week. Most weeks that works. Today I have a site meeting at Fremantle so cant avoid driving today...probably just as well as I am still a bit sore from last night...I did go very hard.

27/2/2014 116.7kg
Bit of slackish week this week after hitting out at the state masters track and rain causing some mods to the usual exercise routine.

Yes, thats kind of why when I qualified for the program and it is covered by Medicare being a fatty, I thought I would take it on.casual_cyclist wrote:That sounds really good!dynamictiger wrote:This program is 8 weeks, then we have 8 weeks of more intense work, then 8 weeks of one on one personal training with an exercise physiologist (I think that's how you say it).
The course has changed. Originally you had electives and swimming was one of the electives. As this is my other 'sport' besides cycling as I used to be quite quick when I was a younger fella and still swim about an hour or so at least once or twice a week, I was looking forward to this. Now they have altered it to PT only I am not as keen, but going to keep going until I see the next layer in a few weeks.

So I'm back into semi-regular cycling and have started lunch time jogs. My wife and I are alternating mornings so my goal is to ride or jog 3-4 days a week and I've cut out the chocolates and diet coke.
188cm
40 y.o. in April
109.7kgs starting weight for 2014.
Goal is 99kgs in the short term and ultimately 89kgs.
Good luck everyone.

With those little changes I should be okay for a 75kg weigh in the week before race day.

Was in a store last night and got chatting to the young bloke at the counter. To look at him he is about the samone size up on me and a little taller. We got talking about cycling as his dad cycles and he told me he had lost 40 kgs himself and was now down to 130 kg. I felt really heavy next to him...interesting maybe this is muscle versus fat in real life as although I am a larger person I am not totally unfit.
Rode into town today to go to court so bit different. Might get near a scale at the weekend and see if it has made any difference.

A sprint triathlon yesterday appears to have balanced out a full on assault on easter eggs this week!

I don't really classify the way I eat as a diet, I just eat what I want to eat, you're welcome to label it if you require but it's really rather simple, I eat more natural food more often, I limit my access to processed foods and anything in a box or bag. I limit refined white sugars and I partake in the eating of grains very rarely that my tummy bloats and expands when I do, my body doesn't crave it or miss it, so therefor it cant be a diet. When one goes on a diet they exclude things from their life and say, "no, I can't have that."dynamictiger wrote:I thought on high protein diet you are supposed to eat more snacks etc.
I say, sure, I can have ice cream, but I probably can't have it every day. I have rice on a really big training day when I train morning and night, but not on the days where I only train once. If someone brings cake to work I'll have a piece or I might go out for cake and coffee on the weekend, I eat pancakes (buckwheat ones - seed not grain) covered with peaches and cream! But I don't eat pasta, I don't eat rice cakes or stuff with MSG on it, I eat very nutrient rich food and we rarely buy things in the iles of the supermarket.
There's no need to snack when you're not hungry, if you're hungry then you may have a snack but remember to ask yourself are you hungry or just bored?
And remember the difference between me and a high protein diet is that I eat fat, because it's yummy and it has flavour!

I dont have a period...but will still eat chocolate given a chance...Parker wrote:Removing that muffin and having a lunch that was lower in carbs bought my weight down which was great, except I have my period and I want to eat chocolate
Had official weigh in at Fatness for Fitties last night...I came in at a very light 132.6 kg and have dropped 6 cm around my middle down to a very slimming 123 cm. Nearly the size of my chest now.
This is similar to last time I lost weight. I loose very little at the beginning, almost to the point of wondering if I am loosing any at all then I reach a tipping point and it falls away really quickly.

Nicely done, I remember when my hips used to measure in at 125cm, now down to 97cm, so you're doing really well!dynamictiger wrote:I dont have a period...but will still eat chocolate given a chance...Parker wrote:Removing that muffin and having a lunch that was lower in carbs bought my weight down which was great, except I have my period and I want to eat chocolate

So you see, with the muffin today, I allowed myself two muffins becuase I'm running 21ishkm today, 10 in the morning and 10 in the evening; both gone.
Periods aren't cool, consider yourself lucky!

I've been dangling off the wagon this week. Not completely fallen off, but I'm battling to keep on. I'll manage though and have stayed the same weight this week so far which shows I've not fallen off completely and I can still swing my legs back on
