I only ever get tingly toes if my shoes are too tight. That is, I've overtightened the straps. I just loosen them and the problem goes away.

Yes, same here. In summer I find my feet swell during a long ride and I'm loosening off every 10/15 ks.

Just toes?
Any toes more affected? Both/one foot only?
Is there any associated foot pain?
What have you found eases the pain and how quickly does it work?

probably feel it more in the big toe, but I think also on smallest 3 toes.
Right foot only
No other pain.

Also I don't really feel it on the rides I feel it more in the evenings. Last time I felt it into the next day as well.

There is nothing I can think of doing to make the tingly sensation to go way quicker, suggestions welcome.

I do have wider feet and the shoe isn't a perfect fit, but I have been using these shoes and pedal combo for 5+ years. (as to the sock, I can only guess I have been using these socks for about 2 years)

Hmm. There isn't an easy anatomical explanation, other than local pressure inside your shoe compressing the nerves within the foot.

Proximal nerve lesions (up higher right through to your brain) would likely produce a different distribution.

I'm guessing you don't have any loss of muscle power in the right leg/calf/ankle.

Check in with a podiatrist. If you have wide feet and tight shoes it may result in Morton’s Neuroma which can be nasty.

Many people have one foot bigger than the other, so no surprises there. I'm with the to tight theory. :)

But check also that the sole is not cracked in the cleat area and exerting a little unwanted pressure into the foot.

I like the shimano sandals in the summer. But mine are MTB cleats.

This guy does amazing things with shoes and cleats. You'll go "Say What is he doing?! " especially when he gets into muscle and proprioception testing, but the results speak for themselves.

I'll take better note of how tight i do up the bottom two straps, although I never do them tight.

I read a story or mechanic cutting a slit in a pro cyclist shoes to make them fit. Wonder how long the shoe will last if I attempt that.

This has happened to me in the past, but not cycling.

I had the same problem with football boots. Puma Kings no good, Nike no good (at all), finally ended up in wide fitment Adidas Beckenbauers, problem gone completely. Same thing if I wear the wrong basketball shoes. Results in my feet (specifically the right foot) becoming numb and tingly over the front 1/3. Went thru And1 and Converse shoes with the issue recurring until (in desperation) I tried a pair of my son's Adidas, problem gone.

I do have a wide foot with a very high arch.
