This is a very sexy cross bike but would you own one!?!...with those components... and bunny hop it over the boards,throw it down a tough descent or worse?.I would ride it as a road bike quite happily thou!.
Because lets face it if you can afford one then you can afford two and get your personal mechanic to service one every lap while you are out on the other!.

7.4 kagigadollars at the current exchange rate is a little mad - especially when you look at the centre pull brakes; I agree with the article, some dubious component picks there.

Probably an excellent bike if you lived off the main road in the country, you could spin like mad along the hardtop and not think twice as you crank down the grass and gravel private entrance road to your stately county manor; but at that price wouldn't you have Geeves come pick you up in the Bentley and slow down a little as you roll past the bike stable so you can veiw with indifference your latest carbon purchase?

I'm pretty confident my 29er satisfies the same basic need set - perhaps not as fast but up to the combo surface challenge.
