perth mn bike

[CAUTION]

considering taking up mountain biking in perth.
thinking of setting up a singlespeed as i ride fixed gear mostly.
any tips on what to buy, where to go?
gear ratio?
shocks?
disc brakes front rear if any?

dont wanna do downhill, just fun trails. hear jarradale is good, goat farm, mundaring etc. any tips be good.
