noise when turning?

Postby hsv.junior » Mon Feb 23, 2009 12:55 pm

ive got a giant boulder 09 and its a great bike.

but a few times when ive been turning it has made a creaking type of noise but only sometimes.

Maybe it needs some oiling of something but i don't know which part i should be looking at.

Thanks in advance.

If its happening when its turning, chances are its something with the headset, but it could be anything really without hearing it. As its an 09 model I'd just take it back to the shop for a check over.

You're not running into the gutter are you buddy - that makes a pretty awful noise, usually accompanied by wobbles and a spill over the side which I'm sure you'd notice.

Take it back to the shop, something probably the headset wasn't tightened down right when they put it together out of the box.

Watch what the do when they fix it - instant Mountain bike maintenance course 101.
Thanks heaps.

sounds to me like a dry headset, either that or cable routing issues

You are right. It needs some oiling. You better go the shop and solve the problem.
