As far as I know, compression damping with this fork is only controlled by the pushlock on the bars. Choices are locked or unlocked.

The external floodgate adjustment is for when the pushlock is in the locked position.

When this fork is 'locked', it doesn't seem to limit shock travel one iota.

It's time to have that looked at, assuming you've adjusted the external floodgate adjustment correctly. The fork should only travel about 20mm when locked - if it doesn't, then the floodgate is broken and the fork should be replaced for you.

Cheers,
Graeme

OK, found the problem. Pushlock cable isn't pulling the lock around far enough.
Rectification works in progress. Need to go and buy a 2mm allen key.

Well done. I'm sure you'll be very happy.

I'm very happy with mine. It took me a while to get the right air pressure in the fork and shock, but now I've got that sorted I've found it to be comfy and fast. I'm running less pressure front and back to what giant recommend.

Is this thread ever going to die? I'm just back from a shoulder reconstruction about 12 weeks ago and I find this thread on the front page. Here's some free advice... Giant Anthem X's are very nice mountain bikes. I got mine out of moth balls and whacked some 1.5" Mavic Detonators on it last week, locked out the suspension, and it MOTORS. The fox pro pedal works a treat!

I found that the pads on my xtr brakes would rub slightly on the rear but were fine on the front. After alot of adjustment I realised that it seemed to be caused from taking the wheel off. While the wheel is off the inside pad seemed to creep in and get stuck and not return.

For some reason this all stopped after about 6 rides and brakes have worked awesome since then.

Nice giant and nice weight!
