Lynskey 29er opinions

Hi all,

I've got my road bike sorted and I have a Lynskey Cyclocross being built as a commuter. My MTB is a 20yo Mongoose which is really showing it's age. I've long been considering a 29" hard tail as I mainly want to ride the local fire trails and pine forrests here in the Southern Highlands. No radical downhill rock jumping, I too old for that. I'll also use it for cruising the bike path with the family.

Anyway, I'm really convinced that titanium is the way to go for bike frames, strong, light and rust free. With the AU$=US$ I'm thinking it might be time to order a Lynskey 29er. Anyone ridden one of these or have any opinions on them? I have no idea on the best forks, wheels and group sets for 29 MTBs. Please help.

Lynskey offer a build kit which seems well priced but I have no idea on the quality of the components.

The use SRAM Reba RLT forks too. They will source any parts including XX group and prices seem better than other online shops like CC. I'm up to speed on road bike components but the MTB world seems to have way too many options.

Well at least a 29" hard tail will be fast down hill.

Wouldn't you be better off with the Ridgeline?.I know the Pro29er is hot!..but it is a race machine with steep steering which will make it very twitchy and they say that it is pretty stiff (what that means for a Ti bike is probably different to a Carbon race machine thou) so it may not be very forgiving.For playing around with the family and fire trails you would probably be better off with the slightly more relaxed geometry.

Yeah, just looking at the specs now TLL. The Ridgeline looks like a good deal.

29ers are the shiz. Wind 'em up and watch 'em go. There are cheaper options than Lynskey, though.

I wish these guys shipped to Australia. That is an unbelievable price from the spec.
