He will need a fork (no dramas), hub & spokes (again, no dramas), but a quick scan on fleabay shows that you can either get a Fr & rear kit (no use for the rear) or a Rear BB7 specific
What stops this being mounted on the front - the mount only ?
Difference between BB7 disc kit - Front or Rear ??

Difference between BB7 disc kit - Front or Rear ??Based on my road conversion

Re: Difference between BB7 disc kit - Front or Rear ??I believe you just need a different adaptor mount for the front.
It seems strange that any should be advertised as front or rear as the 185 I bought from CRC came in a box marked "front/rear". It came with a front 185 post mount, a front 185 IS mount and a 185 IS rear mount. Maybe it is some kind of ex-OEM. Last edited by Nobody on Fri Oct 15, 2010 3:34 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Difference between BB7 disc kit - Front or Rear ??Cheers.
The Wiggle version is marked "Front/Rear" but some are marked Rear only. Thanks for the feedback, it's what I thought the difference was.
Re: Difference between BB7 disc kit - Front or Rear ??The difference is the adapter. IIRC the adapter that comes with it will fit a 160mm front, 140mm rear or something similar. If you have any adapters, grab whatever kit is cheapest. If not, ebay an appropriate adapter too.

Re: Difference between BB7 disc kit - Front or Rear ??As of 2009 Avid made all BB7 brake kits universal fitting as they all contain 2 adaptors one for the front and one for the rear in a box kit for a given rotor diameter but make sure when making a purchase that it is a 2009 version to gain this extra mount other wise read the details to ensure you get the correct kit or buy a rear kit and buy a front mount separately.
