New to Lysterfield - recommend me a ride plan

Postby hitch » Tue Nov 16, 2010 1:57 pm

I've been wanting to get to Lysterfield for over a year now, but haven't managed to yet.

I'd describe myself as an intermediate level rider - love a bit of XC with some technical work, and I'd appreciate it if anyone could recommend a few trails to fill in a couple of hours at Lysterfield? (I've done a couple of the blacks at Forrest, for comparison's sake)

I guess having had a look at the Parks Vic maps, none of the trails are too long, so I guess it would probably be possible to get around most of the trails in a couple of hours. Are there any "must do" or "stay away from" tracks?

I live at the back gate of Lysty and at this moment "most" of the park is unridable due to heavy use over the wet months. The best at the moment would be the run down towards the lake from Hallem Car Park and through Blair Witch.

Everything over the far side of the lake up to Wellington Rd is pretty trashed.

Its quite sad to see as the park is great when in good nick
cheers
