Cheers

Re: Stans no tubes with tubesI know people who have done it. They seemed happy with the results YMMV
Re: Stans no tubes with tubesBetter than Slime, which I can reliably advise is great for clogging your valves to the point of uselessness.

Re: Stans no tubes with tubesIts getting the stuff into the tubes, particularly with Presta valves, that means that a lot of people won't bother.
It worked well for me with one of my tubes (the valve was removable, it appears to be rare for presta tubes). I've not bothered with it otherwise, the MTB runs tubeless, the mtb commuter doesn't have enough tubes with removable valves. ![]()
Re: Stans no tubes with tubesHi, thanks for the feedback.
I ran stans with UST rims and Maxxis Crossmark Lust tyres, no punctures whilst in Alice springs. On my mates bike we ran giant MTB rims with stans tube and Maxxis Crossmark Lust tyres also with no punctures. When using the stans tube it took about 5 minutes to fit with tyre and inflated first go with standard floor pump. I cannot recommend this system enough, great idea and very easy to use. Now to the Bike ride in Alice absolutely brillant, great tracks and when you are only 3kms out of town you think you are in the middle of no where. Highly recommend to all to enter the IC MTB event next year, really well run even if you are of dubious fitness like myself. Only downer was I crashed on the Night ride so could not do the last stage. I will definately be going next year. I learnt a valuable lesson about not being tight when it comes to Lights.
Re: Stans no tubes with tubesSo did you end up running with tubes or with Stan's sealant and no tubes (ie tubeless)?
I'd have thought the best result would have been with UST tyres and rims, and Stan's sealant only - tubes are redundant and possibly an extra point of failure. Re: Stans no tubes with tubesBoth bikes ran with no tubes, the stans inner tube only seal around the rim.
On my bike I only used the tyre as the rims were UST compliant. Cheers
