I've got a spare set or maxxiss ignitors here that I want to fold up and pack away in the box im using to send my bike home... But how do I do it? are all the maxxis ignitors folding? I tried to do one and the beads made angry noises (lol) I just dont want to rush into folding them only to destroy the beads and end up destroying what are basically new tyres.

Paul I think you had better get the idea in your head that your going to need a big box that houses the whole tyre there not foldable

O_O I had a feeling they werent. LOL I heard a bit of creaking when I tried to gently fold them. fail. Thanks Rick. And yes, these are still the ones from you. If I cant fit em in the box I'll just keep them here for a later time. :D

I have folded wired tyres before for touring and haven't had any issues (not that I'm saying it's the right thing to do). Depending on how small you need it, try making a number 8 and folding. Use tape to hold it in place folded. If you need it even more compact, put the tyre over a post and twist each side. You should end up with triple 0 (000). Fold where the cross and tape together.

I think Oxford means to roll them.

Grab the opposite side of the tyre and twist. It will become a figure 8 and roll over itself

You do it much the way I fold my hankies. Heat up the iron, press the steam button, make tight creases so that you can fold it small. 8)
