About time too, I knew it would pay off, that you would end up single 8(

My Trek Farley is slowly coming along, hurry up front derailleur...

Would be awesome but gets pricey when you add it all up.

Global Fatbike day today. Still waiting on the Fatboy to turn up. 10psi also works in 29er tyres. As long as you don't corner too hard :D

Crazyjose was having fun.

How do these things go with jumps (1-2 foot high) and tighter nooks and crannies? Had my first run at bush bashing in the last 20 years (I may have done some as a kid but I can't remember lol) and the BSO MTB just wasn't up to the task. I'm quite impressed it managed as well as it did... but it was demoralising how risky everything felt. Bigger tyres for a bigger footprint would help enormously, but is the fat just "too big"? Or do you assume you'll just roll straight over everything like an M1 Abrams?

Nice Farley Jose  Why did you go Trek instead of Surly etc etc etc?

You can jump them. Google 'Norco Growler Run' and you'll get a Youtube beer ad worth watching. Still not entirely advised since these things are running around 10 to 15 psi - the bike in the vid had quite a lot of air in it!! Handling wise in the tighties...very very impressive given what they are - you can seriously lean them over!!
Ours is not to reason why...merely to point and giggle

Thanx, it took a bit of planning and some crafty buying parts to make it work. I wanted a 170 mm rear axle'd fatbike that was based on an existing good handling frameset, the Farley is based on the Trek Superfly, shorter chain stays a number of good updates from the Superfly that other Fatbikes don't have. I have a '12 Mukluk and I can say that the Farley craps all over it on the single track, which is what I wanted a single track Fatbike weapon, the Mukluk is more of a trekking bike in comparison. Surly wasn't even in the ball park, and Dirtworks ruined that with their excessive pricing and lack of support in parts.

I had to privately import the Trek Farley as disappointingly Trek Australia would not import one in for me, and when I repeatedly asked they came back with "it's too late". So I said screw them and their mindless attitude and did the homework and brought in my own from LA. If Japan and Europe can get them, then why can't we. I was going for the Bigfoot as previously posted, but Norco screwed the frame up badly on that one, they should have kept with the original frame design, so much better looking and refined it in a betterer manner. The Specialized Fatboy would have been my next choice should the Farley not been possible.

Hi,
just joined BNA and have been riding Fat since earlier this year :)
Was riding a Mukluk 3 with upgrades and currently working out what my next fatty will be.
Have a Fatboy Expert on order and am growing tired of the delays from Spec :(
Looking at Ti or maybe carbon :)
Cheers

Well I rode around Thredbo this week for a couple of days and enjoyed it heaps, saw snow but it was too far away to be practical to ride in it. Nice area to ride, but they need to label their trails a little betterer, not much in the way of dirtbikers there either...

Image

And did the sweeper lap after todays SCUM Xmas ride, a little muddy and slippy, took some corners like a dirttrack racer as the tyres were all loaded up with clay and mud and traction was a little lacking. More fun after I dialled in the right pressure in the tyres too. Great to close the ride/race on a fatbike and score free food drinks at the end of the ride, Nice one SCUM.

Where's your pump? Only just occurred to me that dialling in the pressure means putting in and letting out a LOT of air?

I have been pondering the exact same question..! I get bored enough adjusting my 2.2 26er tyres!

That teeny red pump? Bugger that for a bad idea. I've got visions of a track pump strapped to the back, TMNT style
