Sorry I meant mix of SRAM X-7 and Shimano SLX. The triggers are SRAM and so is the RD. The FD and cranks are shimano. Tw guy I bought it off was a bike mechanic and he has this tuned so nicely with snappy shifting.
In fact I'm off to ride it now

Thanks Rob, the scarcity of X9 front mechs in the configuration I need (triple, low mount, top pull) means I'll probably keep the SLX unit when the rest of my Trance goes X9.

Cheers
Shaun

Hi guys, here are my two bikes. The first is a fixed gear bike I built when I was living in Edinburgh, Scotland. It's made using an old italian frame and rides silently. I have since brought this bike back to Australia. Note the tartan seat :P

Speedplay Frog, I already use Speedplay Zero's on my roadie and was keen to try their MTB pedal. I think the general consensus is people either love or hate them, so far I'm in the love corner as they've not let me down (yet?).

Very cool bike slow6. Great photo too.

I haven't seen XT thumbshifters in a long time. I upgaded to a set of those from LX rapidfire in 1994 and loved them. Then I went to gripshift in 1996 and hated it.

Thanks Mugglechops. Funnily enough it was sporting gripshifters until just before this photo was taken, I got used to them and even started to believe they were a bit good... thumbies on, perspective restored

I hadn't visited this thread for a while and as I scrolled down to Astro's steel fixie, I thought "Gee I'd like that" and then the GT hardtail "Gee I'd like that", Jules' Anthem 29er "Gee I'd like that", Phil's Epic "Gee I'd like that", Woody's Trance "Gee I'd like that", and Slow's kick in the guts gorgeous vintage Stumpy "Gee I'd like that" .

It's rare when you pop a web page open and see such a variety of bicycles that are soooo desirable.... Yes, even the tartan saddle...

The background of the last picture is definately not anywhere in Australia, what is the mountain bike scene like in Russia? Do you have good trails and lots of races?

Of course, we have both. :)
In the forests trails to suit all tastes. Every weekend, if I'm not going for the race, usually I ride with my son in the forest.
Me and my son are taking part in amateur races.
Last year I took part in eleven races.
Here is several photos:
Tovarkovo. Kaluzhskaya Region.

Zelenograd. Moscow Region

After this race I had to completely service my bike, because it was in a terrible condition.

Are 29ers popular in Russia?
