I was toying with the idea of a Trek Fuel 9 EX a while ago, but eventually decided that the Trance 1 represented much better value.... Haven't bought yet but still of the same opinion.
Anyway I looked at a UK mag (MBR) with reviews of the Trance X1 and the Fuel 9 EX, and in the UK the price difference is £250. Here it is $1800.
Hence why the Trance looks like so much better value than the Fuel EXs here!

Do they have the same components in both countries?
If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

yeah the guy i have been riding with lately was saying people were buying the giants for the cheaply priced componentry, then selling the frames and keeping the componentry
possibly giant is buying the componentry much cheaper than other companies?

Then why are the prices in the UK closer together? It would be universally cheaper if they were getting cheaper components when building.ukalipt wrote:possibly giant is buying the componentry much cheaper than other companies?
Basically after the exchange rate, the Fuel 9 costs $465 more in Australia, and the Trance 1 costs about $990 less. Bike pricing in Australia is just strange!
