Re: Aligning Brakes when putting Wheel onIt's not the brakes, RH.
When you locked the skewer the wheel wasn't sitting evenly in the forks. Just release it and reseat the wheel, then lock again. Rotate the wheel while it's off the ground to check it spins freely. You might have been squeezing the tyre between your knees while you tightened the nut, but the bike was actually leaning slightly to one side while you were doing it.
Re: Aligning Brakes when putting Wheel onSo basically what im doing at the moment

Re: Aligning Brakes when putting Wheel onI twist the caliper a bit so that it is centered... Wheel is always sitting in the drops fine, but I change wheels a fair bit so they are slightly different. No biggie, takes about 2 secs.
Re: Aligning Brakes when putting Wheel onHmmm, some wheel changes must be comedic to watch.Holding the wheel between the knees - really?

no, RonK admits to some foibles. he is only a mere mortal like the majority of us. Life is not about waiting for the rain to pass.....it's about learning to dance (or ride) in the rain.

Re: Aligning Brakes when putting Wheel onToo true. Maybe I should be wearing my Mr Grumpy tee shirt this morning.
Been a rough week with late nights and then our desktop computers going down Thusday arvo due to a faulty OS patch ... was planning to do the MWCC short course mtb crits this morning but the alarm went off and my first thought was "bleh" ... turned off the alarm and went back to bed. Nice sunny day, too. "People have a right to their own opinions, but not their own facts. Re: Aligning Brakes when putting Wheel on
The Perfect Cyclists will jeer you for doing this, Richard, but you can flip the bike upside down when you reattach the wheel - it'll sit cleanly in the forks without you needing to consciously straighten it.
