Postby Bucket Master » Tue May 13, 2008 7:40 pm

So I have the pleasure (or pain) to be involved with the Australian leg of the 2008 World Cup in August and the 2009 World Champs here in Canberra.

This is just a quick heads up to let you know that the web site is live and that there will be updates on the site all the time

So please feel free to check out what we have on offer at mtbworlds(.)com(.)au (or you can vist through the CORC site too) - sorry but I am unable to post URLs on this site

The schools event is always fun, last year we had 480 riders, this year - who knows

We are also hoping to have one, two or three (perhaps more) olympic and world cup (European, Australian and North American) riders out there working on the skills clinic on the Monday too.

We have run the final hit outs on the DH and 4X and the courses are being tweaked. Its al looking good so far fingers crosed the we will get a little more rain this month and then it will stay away for the BMC 8 Hour onwards

We are running a Urban Crit in the centre of Canberra on the 15th - it will involve those local personality types as well as some of the big guns. Should be good for a laugh and with the finish line next to the pub...

We are still looking for volunteers - so if you can spare some time please visit mtbworlds.com.au

Any of the single track for the XC. Sounds like the new climb out of Blue Gums will be good as is the descent from the DH bridge. There's a section around Old Duffy's Junction where it looks like you'd be able to get around to a few bits of track.

For DH, Triple Treat and the Road Gap will be very popular. The big bermed section a little after the Road Gap is not bad. Rock Garden up the top, G20 drop, Finish line it's all good.

MTNX - anywhere you can see.

So with no time left and riders already registered here is a reasonable description with some pictures of the XCO course

Mostly of the XC

Very fun course, one short steep section on the Cardiac Climb defeated me (SS & CX bikes), but I'll be back - finally some riding in Canberra worth making the trip for.

thanks alchemist for the links to the pics. it is really disappointing
how difficult it is to find any information about the XC race.
for obvious reasons DH and 4X take for front but just some
coverage would have been nice.
