Shimano Tektro Hydraulic disk brake help!

Postby Waldo015 » Sat Aug 31, 2013 2:38 pm

Hi guys,

Can anyone help me with my new MTB.

I just got a new Merida Matts 40D with hydraulic brakes and I just can't get the rear brake to lock up, In fact it struggles to even slow me down. When I pull the lever it comes a long way in before anything happen then I have even pulled it in to touch the handle bars and not much happens.

Is the system like a cars where if there is air in them they don't work real well, if so how to I bleed them?

Or is it a case of needing to do more hard stops to bed the brakes in better?

Cheers Waldo
