Rims on the 2009 Giant Alias.

G'day all,
I picked up my 2009 Giant Alias this morning and was surprised to find it fitted with a set of AlexRims Ace-17's. Both the Giant website and the current Mountain Biking Australia magazine indicate that it comes with generic no-name rims. MBA quotes " The only truly generic part of any importance is the rims. While they are nothing fancy, these black double wall alloy units were laced with good spoke tension."

From research I did leading to my purchase, I was under the impression that AlexRims were a good manufacturer.

Has anyone else bought a 2009 Giant Alias and, if so, what rims were provided?

Have I struck it lucky with getting these rims or are they really just a bog-standard rim anyway?

I roll on Alex's Rims on my 08' XTC.

Rear: DP20 rim, 36 spoke, shimano deore hub
Front: DP20 rim, 32 spoke, novatec hub 20mm through hole.

I've never had a problem with them.
