Cannondale Trail SL 3 2010

Postby jmacbrid86 » Sat Apr 02, 2016 8:00 pm

Hey Everyone,

Picked a Cannondale Trail SL 3 for a great price the other day. Now I have a rather good collection of drivetrain parts couple of options I have;

XO 9 speed Gripshift
SRAM X9 Rear Mech
LX Crankset
Deore Front Mech

Or

XTR 10 speed clutch rear mech
XTR shifters
XTR front mech
Crankset will be sourced (XT)

Is it beyond the frame to be wearing XTR, the forks and Wheelset will be upgraded when they die. Opinions and comments welcome.

This will be main rig for the foreseeable future.

The MTB snob brigade would most likely see the XTR running gear as overkill. But given it's the main rig you'll be using and you have the parts I'd be using them.

I'd like to think the MTB are a bit more relaxed than that but then something clicked inside me - WHY ARE YOU RUNNING A FD AT ALL?!!?

Anyhow. easily 10 speed clutched over the 9 speed. No it's not overkill, just stick it on and ride.
