27.5+ hardtail or Full suspension

Been pondering getting back on MTB since a fall a year ago that broke my collarbone. yolo right?
I've looking around and really like the new 27.5+ for more grip, especially for a beginner like me, either that or full suspension like an anthem, ultimately it would be good to find a 27.5+ FS though. My budget is around $2000 ballpark, can stretch it if there is a good deal.
Would love to hear peoples opinions of 27.5+ HT vs a FS setup..

Also, what do people think of this one from Polygon?

Depends. I went hardtail 29 to fs 29 and now looking at 27.5+.

Biggest factor is I am riding less aggressive trails now and my fitness is pretty good (relative lols). 27.5 if you have the fitness, otherwise dually is better for rough stuff. Ride a 4 inch fat bike and you will realise it;s still a hard tail even with balloon wheels.

I've been on a 27.5+ HT for a bit over 6 mths. The polygon looks good, subject to the quality of home brand wheelset.
They are a fun ride. Great for 1-2 hour blasts on XC/smoother trails. The tires do take a bit of effort to keep going compared to 2.3's.
$2000 won't get you much in a FS bike, especially a +. I would probably prefer to run 2.8's, but that would lower the BB to much on most + bikes. So in short - the fitter you are, the better a + bike would be as an allrounder. Scott and possibly some other brands may run the smaller 2.8 tires that are worth a look. The Marin looks nice. No dropper seat post though, but $400 cheaper
Not very familiar with MTB componentry. How does it fare vs the Polygon?

The Marin has Double Butted CrMo (steel) frame and a weird/uncommon rear hub spacing 141x9mm QR. As you say no dropper as well. See if you have the time and can source a couple of different bikes to test ride, so you get what suits you.
The pologon does seem to be pretty good value and the 14 day return (check conditions) makes the process safer if you don't like it after all. I'm really happy with my Fuse, but it's one of 4 bikes. So it wouldn't be a one bike for everything, but then nothing is. As long as you don't want to do much long distance, road/commuting, serious racing or enduro then the + as fun.

THanks...ended pulling trigger on a 2017 Norco 7.1 fluid plus. Bit more than what I planned to pay. Can't wait

There won't be much stopping the Norco, good solid parts package with enough travel combined with the 2.8 tires to ride just about everywhere in comfort. It will be a bit heavy, but it would cost at least twice as much to get under 13kg on that type of bike. Have fun and post up some pictures and ride report.
