Bush man blow
Postby Apple » Thu Apr 15, 2010 9:17 pm
Do you carry a hanky and tell the group you are with to just stop for a minute during the descent so that you can get your floral hanky out from you back pocket or cleavage, (where ever it is) and blow your nose like a lady. Or do you just block one nostril with your thumb and blow like a bush man. Maybe you can share your female trick on the nose blow with me.
I think this is one of the most embarrassing things for some women do on a bike when riding with guys. I am not sure if guys really care or even notice.

Speaking for the guys (well me at least) it has to get out so you might as well blow! Why stop the ride when 2km down the road your nose is going to be running again? I've ridden with some females that kept sniffling, that's worse than the bushman's in my opinion.Apple wrote: I think this is one of the most embarrassing things for some women do on a bike when riding with guys. Gross steph, let's not shake hands.
God you are lucky, I don't know where mine comes from in the cold air.I never seem to have enough to need to actually blow my nose?
You need a strong blow, good suction and power.I have tried snotting into free air and just can't make it work.
I feel the same, it is so annoyinghannos wrote

My mum always says 'sniff up it makes brains'...
Apple, Id ride with you but Id have to be at the front for fear of copping a snotting and I am very very very slow...
plus I like to wander all over the place squashing millipedes because I like the crunchy noise they make ( bit like popping bubble wrap)
hmmmm.. maybe this is why noone rides with me....

For her part Mrs Monsoon does not like this so when we ride together I drop back a little so she can't hear. When she wishes to empty the hooter she does the "stop-and-use-a-tissue" thing.
She's such a girl.
Leaving now. Again, apologies for the intrusion.

I do this toogorilla monsoon wrote:Apologies for intruding in the girls' forums but I pretty much snuck (new word - it means sucking-back but through your nose) it back and then expel the mass through the mouth, being sure there is no-one riding alongside or close behind. the other day someone in a bunch did this and managed to score the crank of the bike behind him
But sometimes there is so much it's not possible and hence the "stop and use tissue" technique.
if i'm brave, i can try the "grab tissue from pocket in one hand whilst riding, and try to blow out whilst riding" trick - not exactly the safest maneuver unless you are really confident and no major bumps ahead of you ...

I could never ever ride with you, that above behaviour would make me vomit.gorilla monsoon wrote:Apologies for intruding in the girls' forums but I pretty much snuck (new word - it means sucking-back but through your nose) it back and then expel the mass through the mouth, being sure there is no-one riding alongside or close behind. .
you are so lucky to have mrs monsoon who can put up with that.
and Christine, don’t call me for a ride if you behave in the same conduct
