Arrgghh!

I woke up this morning with a pimple in a place on my body where I never want to see a pimple.

It's gonna hurt on a saddle.

Should I just wait for it to clear, or cycle regardless?

In-grown hair maybe?

Cycle anyway :)

Just pop the bloody thing and ride (clean it with antiseptic.)

+1 but do clean after the ride as well, as it could get infected

Why bother commenting? Women get ingrowns as well you know, there's a thread about prostate checks, how is this worse?

It should have carried a TMI alert perhaps? That thread title was sneaky! :P

At least you got a warning of what you were getting into with the prostate thread (ummm... sorry, bad pun  ).

With this it's like:

"Ooh, I wonder what this is about?" :?:
BOOM!
"Aaaarrggh! Too late! Can't go back! My eyes!"

I really don't see anything wrong with the thread - it's title or its content.

I know how you feel Christine. I woke up with a pimple on my chin this morning. It's gonna hurt when I'm in the saddle...and grimacing on a climb. I better do a flat ride tonight instead. Shame :D

How did you see it in the first place? Yoga?

I'll see Apple and Missy and raise with a warm, moist cloth applied for a few minutes first.

Heal quick.

ROFL!

+1 on the hot, moist towel. Burst the bugger, then nuke the crap out of it with antiseptic. If the pain of the bursting doesn't do you in, the antiseptic will. The ride will be nothing by comparison :)

I found a pimple on my lip the other day at work.

Very painful and I couldn't stop touching it once I knew it was there, even after I popped it.........

Lucky I was the only one in the office that day.

Tried to go out today.

No good. Did one block and came back.

It's in a spot which moves with pedalling.

I don't think it has burst yet, but I can't see properly, can only feel it, and too scared to inspect with mirror.

Don't. No good will come from it. And don't forget...

Too late - I managed to have a peek, and wish I haven't seen it.

It's an ingrown hair, and looks pretty hideous. Can't actually burst it, it's swollen.

I'll try again tomorrow, but these things can take weeks to come out

Stop being a wimp; get the scalpel out, small slit and squeeze baby squeeze. You are not a true female if you don’t squeeze a zit. It is part of our x chromosome

I have to agree with Apple and Missy on Trailgumby's comments.

Nothing useful to added to Christine's query, and really male or female, if there is something that we find that 'outside our comfort zone', then that is best dealt with by exiting the thread in question rather than commenting in an unhelpful way on it.

Getting back to the issue of the pimple/ingrown hair, guys can get these as well in the saddle interface zone - I have one past experience about 15 years ago. I agree with Apples advice, the issue could take days or weeks to resolve itself without intervention. Sure the process of 'personal surgery' may be eye watering, require contortion and maybe a mirror, but 'better out than in'. Use copious quanties of antiseptic before and after and give yourself as many days as you need to heal afterward before cycling again. (Probably 2-3 minimum). If the prospect of doing it yourself is to much, perhaps seek advice/assistance from a cycling friendly doctor whom you are comfortable with.

Applied some Clearasil on it last nite, and this morning it subsided enough for me to cycle (gingerly).

Unfortunately, it started raining, so a recovery ride turned into a survival ride.

My average dropped down to 27.3 km/h, but I'm glad I made it home safely.
