Why do you ride WSD?
I don't. I wouldn't be caught dead on a bike with pink/or any pastel colour on it!! But I don't have an issue fitting a MSD - I have wide shoulders and am a pretty standard size (no legs up to my armpits here unfortunately).
What do you ride?
2008 Scott CR1 Team - slightly specced up - with Selle SMP saddle and slightly wider bars than came standard (42 c2c was standard and I have 44 e2e - probably about a 43 c2c). I also have a 110 stem which was standard.
How much did you spend?
Initially about $3500 - now about $8k
Was there a mens model that was on par with what you got?
See above - I got the mens model
Was the men's model cheaper?
See above
How could your bike shop have helped you more?
They were great. Measured me on a bike that was too big then ordered mine. It fitted like a glove.
What annoyed you most about the bike shop that you went to?
Nothing although change of ownership and focus means I no longer go back to where I bought the bike.
What did you expect from your bike shop?
Good after sales service and advice and a friendly welcome. And something in the store to aspire to
Were you made to feel unintelligent?
No. I would have walked out without buying if I were.
Do you feel as though you could have been better prepared when purchasing a bike?
Not really. Kinda knew what I wanted as I'd done some looking around but was waiting until I fell in love...which I did.
Have you got a bike shop that helps out women really well?
Yes my new one is great.
Would it may you feel better if there was a girl in the shop?
No. I don't think a woman is better at selling to women. Provided the men know about bike and clothing fit for women, then I'm happy. So far I have that with my LBS. I've bought shoes (men's fit) and women's knicks from them and have all been ok.
