Re: Chafing. Not ChaffingHey Apple, I've just ordered some gunk called Chamois Glide after wearing a hole in the left one at the weekend. I'll let you know how it goes. If it is half as good as the claims and testimonials then it must be indeed wonderful stuff.

Thanks Gorilla, but just remember I am hairless, so read the instructions first. A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

Re: Chafing. Not ChaffingWell, I tried the new chamois glide this afternoon and I have to say, i'm pretty impressed. It wasn't a long ride (30km) but I started realising at about the 20km mark that I wasn't doing my usually fidgetting in the saddle, moving around to try and stop my knicks from bunching and rubbing.
By the way, I wore a pair of knicks that are my most uncomfortable and are bound for the Vinnie Bin. I was riding my flatbar this afternoon and that may have had a bearing on the test so I will be testing the stuff over the weekend on my roadie, longer rides but with nice, comfortable bibs. I'll let you know how that goes. As for the application process, it comes in a stick, sort of like those stick deodorants. It goes on easily, isn't wet or gooey and you don't even know you have it on. Re: Chafing. Not Chaffing
Vinnies take used knicks?? That's what I call re-cycling. Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.
Hopefully I'll know what that's like..... one day. ![]()
Re: Chafing. Not Chaffing
Why wouldn’t they, they take used bikes, so they will take the nicks. I call it a double whammy A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

Re: Chafing. Not ChaffingAussie Butt Cream (for all your downunder bits) is a good product.
I found this one of the better products for under carraige problems. Excuses are like arseholes! Everybody has one and they all stink! - Lance Armstrong .

Re: Chafing. Not ChaffingNovice, I'm actually trying to move away from the regular butt creams because they are gooey. I was using one the other day when I started chafing badly.

Re: Chafing. Not ChaffingWell Apple, the verdict is in. I used Chamois Glide for Loop the Lake and it was great. No chafing, no rubbing, no anything, just a really comfy bum. And I was using my roadie, not my flattie so the seat was a bit more radical. Used comfy new bib-knicks as well.
I'm giving gooey butt creams the flick and using the Chamois Glide from here on in. Re: Chafing. Not ChaffingAs this is an old thread, I hope your chafing has well and truely gone.
My 2 cents worth for anyone reading this in the future: - Lucas Paw Paw Ointment is great on any chafing! I'm not sure how good it is at reventing it though. - I have more experience with nappy rash than cycling chafing, but maybe some time to air and repair will do cycling chafing some good.
