If you enjoy riding but can't due to a back issue, get a bike that is kind to your back ! And fast......

they don't look so bad But I have to say they are scary on the road, I just don't like driving behind them.

So buy the first one and ride it! Scare the daylight out of all the drivers around you.

Apple, before you throw in the towel... my road bikes are very limiting, I can last about an hour at speed, after which I have to get off the bike every 20 - 30 minutes and stand upright. If I want to push hard in training, it means I can only push hard every second day.
But on my TT bike - no such problem. Most people I know hate their TT bikes, I love mine because it doesn't make my back play up.

interesting, I took my aerobars off a long time ago. I will take the bike out this week, I found out why I got back pain. I spent 5 thousand dollars on a new Sealy bed and the thing is too soft, I feel like I am sleeping in quicksand. I have been sleeping on the floor until I decide what to do. Anyone want a brand new Sealy king size Not happy at present.

I spent a lot on a mattress - one that has two hardness/softness levels so each person sleeping in the bed can have their own preference of firmness. You choose the firmness in the store and they make it for you and deliver. No more arguments!! As I like to term it, I sleep on nails (the hardest option there was) and my partner sleeps on semi-cloud (there was a softness even softer than semi-cloud which I found suffocating). The machine that gave you an indication of which firmness/softness you should choose told me I should choose semi-nails. But I am glad I chose hard. Can you take the mattress back?

No I can take it back, I also like it hard just like my men the company will change the top layer on Wednesday to semi firm. If I am not happy I will just kiss the crapolla away and get a new one

Yes, but read another way, it's $5K for "bling". You *know* you want some Zipp tubulars for riding for coffee.

Yes, I have discovered there are other uses for the hard side of the mattress that the soft side just can't handle. Do you have an option harder than semi-firm that they can fit? The new expensive (and heavy) mattresses have an extra padding of the latex on the top of the mattress which also softens the firmness of the mattress further so if you've got one of those types a firmer mattress may be exactly what you need. From my experience if you bought cloud the only thing you could do on it is sleep. You'd have to have another mattress for other non-sleeping activities or use the floor... We got ours from Snooze about 2 years ago now. We didn't choose the thickest latex covering (too expensive) and I think that was a good choice. Does the change in mattress mean you will no longer hang up the bike?

The bike will be hung on me or I will be hanging on the bike it has been 5 weeks since I rode it but tomorrow I will test it in the park

Out of curiosity, do your Australian GPs/specialists/surgeons agree you should stop cycling? What healthy activity have you replaced cycling with? From your avatar pic, could it be you just prefer to rest for a bit, as part of a periodization macrocycle?

No they didn’t say that I should stop cycling, but I think I have bipolar and compulsive obsessive behaviour. I just tend to go too hard if I see cyclists I tend to want to ride with them and keep up. I also ride with much stronger groups then me. Not good when you get spat out the back like a toilet motion my avatar pic is coffee that’s just what I like to drink when I am not drinking French champagne. Mind you I think a nice glass of red is nice too. Maybe it’s time to change my avatar. So you ask what other exercise I do to replace cycling, I am exercising my mouth gland. I just need to hit myslef over the head just like foo said and get on with it. But it is hard to get motivated time after time.
