Average speeds for women

What is the average speed for women who race from lowest grade to top? (Not sure how they run if it's in grades or not)

Hey Michelle. Some times and avg speeds fromva crit here in Perth with a b and c grade for women. http://www.mylaps.com/en/events/987441

Its a fairly flat course and given it's a crit speeds are fairly high. From memory Emma Pooley raced A grade here so take that into account.

To add to that D and E grade were mixed grades by the looks of it.

In Sydney I race B Grade women's or D Grade mixed in Waratah Vets. Depends a bit on the course but on a fast course I would average about 34kph in D Grade mixed. In B Grade Women it's about 32kph but on a slower course. I've done one lap at 39 in Women's B Grade - had to stop looking at my HR because I was telling me I was going to die :-)

On the road, where races are longer and usually hilly I averaged about 28-30kp in WMAS 40+ mixed grades. A bit depends on tactics there too. No point everyone blowing up halfway through.

Melbourne's B Grade Women was averaging 36km/h for a crit when I played.

Hey Pravada what's your average, I don't think I can tell that from the basic info, average speed would be more beneficial to know than fastest lap.

Well im a bloke racing B Grade but they usually put a grade women with us if time tight. We avg 39-42 for crits and usually 36 + for road races. If you're in Perth look up th Pickering Brook road race on next weekend. Should be some good women's racing.
