Eurobike 2010 - Conway E-Rider

Hi

Electric mountain bike ...

German bike-maker Conway also used the event to premiere its burly-looking E-Rider. Its motor can generate up to 2,000 watts, which definitely separates it from the commuting ebikes, while its weight is somewhere under 20 kilograms (44 lbs.) – not bad for something with a motor and a battery.

When not belting out bursts of 2,000 watts, the E-Rider’s brushless motor puts out 1,000 watts of continuous power. It runs off a 36-volt lithium-ion battery pack, rated at 626 watt-hours. The battery can recharge up to 80 percent in one hour, 100 percent in three hours, and offers a range of up to 110 kilometers (68 miles) depending on use.

Hmmm. I think 2000 watts takes it out of the e-bicycle class. Will probably need to be registered/ insured in most centres of civilization.

The bike is a prototype at this stage - they had a stand however are not yet able to produce - they actually had run out of all brochures / info on day 2 of the show - but the ladies at the stand still held a smile.
