electric trike sydney

My mother has expressed interest in an electric trike.

We could get an online one, I'd really rather buy from a shop. Seems like the options are Glowworm and Sydney Electric Bikes.

A Gomier with add on kit would be cheaper but I don't mind the cost all that much. This thing would be instead of a mobility scooter so looking at the same sort of money as one of those is OK.

I have not yet worked out if I want to go pure pedelec or have a throttle option. Leaning towards both as she tires easily.

Anyone know of any other ebike places in Sydney? Experiences with either of those places, or with any of the mail order ones?

What should I be asking them, what should I be thinking about?

I think recumbent.net.au do electric conversions on some of their recumbent trikes. Trident Spike has a fairly upright seating position if that's what your mum is looking for.

recumbent trikes are all too close to the ground. Getting in and out of something less than chair height is difficult for the less mobile elderly.

Alas recumbent.net.au has stuffed his website :) Can't see what he's got cos the build is for catrike not spike.

Can't use the spoke ebike - motor not legal. the seat height is possible, so I might ring him to see if he actually has an electric one....

The Greenspeed Magnum has a height adjustable seat.
TerraTrike (http://terratrike.com/) also have some models with a higher seating position. Not sure whether Craig sells them as well.
I think Craig should be able to add electric assist to any trike.

There's this type:

Or this:

Or:
https://www.bikeexchange.com.au/a/recum ... /102843207

The problem with these is a tendency to tip when under brakes in an off-camber corner unless the rider is very careful. Unfortunately, not in Sydney, but might give you some ideas.

Here's a leaning trike, used, you'd want to factor write-off value if no warranty and get battery problems.
